My Daughter Entered Ontario Provincial Care to receive services/funding as a medically fragile/ pecial needs
child. After her going into care 6 years ago, her life and lifestyle declined dramatically, and to her provable overall
detriment. In an age where 'looks matter' I have selected a photographic view of Erin's clothing, randomly, in this past year.
I start with a picture of the 4- 5 year old winter boots, that were purchased by 'the birth family', as
the foster parents the winter these were purchased told us our daughters clothes were NOT funded, thus we were expected to
provide clothes. We did, and these boots were one of many items we provided to our child due to foster parent lack of funding,
or evidence of lack of care, provision, support and funding gone awry.
I complained about these boots in Winter 2002-2003 and in Feb 2004 to the Children's Aid Society responsible
for our child's care. They did nothing. Our daughter was 8 when the boots were bought in 1999. She was 13 when they were replaced.
The boots are size 3. My daughters
foot size at the time of replacement of these boots by ourselves was size 6.5 womens.
Our daughter has low tone, significant
coordination problems , poor body awareness, and therefore would likely not be able to identify the discomfort of the smaller
size.
Foster Parents always say they have new boots
on order, or they got the new boots but had to send them back. CAS says everything is fine for child.
